Lyah Jacobs - a champion of woman right or a child who needs help?

In my articles entitled: Is hypocrisy Vincentian middle name" I said that Lyah Jacobs, Colin's Graham's ex-girlfriends did S.V.G a public service when she publicly spoke of her abuse at the hands of Colin Graham. Although her actions were a public service that may have prevented a smaller scale recurrence of oppressive behaviors similar to what is being encouraged and practice by Ralph E. Gonsalve. She does not get full credit for her actions. Although Lyah Jacobs did the right thing, her motives for doing such was far less than honorable and the good her actions would have done for the nation, was never taken into consideration. In other words, she did the right thing for the wrong reason. Her motives and intentions were corrupted by a series of thing that I will go into later in this discourse.

It is interesting that this young lady declared that Colin Graham needs help and indeed he does need help, but the type of help Colin need, is nowhere close to the multitude of help that this poor child Lyah needs and have needed for most of her life. Like the wife of Bash Thomas who when he announced his political candidacy, she publicly declared her refusal to support her husband, the man to whom she is under contractual obligation to support: her husband. But instead, she publicly pledged, declared and vowed her support for her husband's "Political Enemy": Ralph Gonsalves. What is superbly interesting was; her husband and Ralph Gonsalves were contesting different constituency, yet her obligations was not to her husband but to another man, far removed from the man, she swore to God, in his presence and in the presence of witness; to love and to honor for as long as she live. 

Have you seen a pattern developing here; a pattern in the experiences of Colin Graham and Bash Thomas. Another thing we ought to pay attention to is, the journalist and the talk show host that give life and a lengthy existence to these stories. At times I sit back and I just laugh to myself, at the extent of the blindness of Vincentians, their inability to see the obvious.

I will take this time to tie in a seemingly unrelated topic which will seek to lend some clarity to the discourse, and aid your full understanding of the information I am presenting. There is a psychological condition call Stockholm syndrome. This is a mental condition that was studied extensively. Stockholm syndrome: is a mental disorder where an individual that was continuously raped over a long period of time; stop hating their rapist, but began to develop and show administration, respect and even love for their rapist.

What actually happens in this case is; the person’s injured mind in its quest for mental survival, to deal with the traumatic situation of forced sexual violation. One way the person’s and their mind try to cope with this trauma is; it try to develop some form of mechanism to cope with the trauma that has devastated their life. As a result, the victim goes through several stages, which helps them to cope with the level of abuse they have experiened.

The objective of their mind is to find the best mental equilibrium possible. As a result, they go through many phases in order to get to something as close to normal as possible. In the initial stages the mind takes the victims through stages such as self-blaming, a period of shame, denial etc. Then to a stage of numbing where the disgusting acts no longer affects the persons mind, they are so helpless to stop or the torture of rape that their mind and body grow numb. There exist a disconnect between the body and mind that is resulted from the whole process of being continuously raped.

We must not forget, all throughout the continued rape, the mind is searching for a means of mental survival; over a long period of being continually raped the mind begins to normalize the inhumane acts. This sick exploitative act, become the victims new normal; the victim's body is still functional; this type of function is really a dysfunction. In this world dysfunction is the new normal. The search for a sense of mental survival and a semblance of normalcy continue throughout the abuses. We must not forget the body's senses are still working; as a result the body began to positively respond to erotic arousal and the sensation of sexual pleasure that is derived from the continued rape in a positive light. It is the only bright moment in the person’s life; they do not delight in the person who is generating these pleasures, not the method use in generating these pleasures, but the pleasures themselves.

As a result, of the continued bouts of rape, the person’s mind continues to adapt to the abuses, as the mind fight for mental survival. Then, the victim began to associate these pleasures with their rapist and then move into the phase that is considered Stockholm syndrome. Where the victim began to associate the pleasures with her rapist and began to credit him, for the one bright moment in their life; the moment of sexual pleasure and the affections that comes with such. They often forget, it was that criminal who hurt then and replace their once, hopeful, optimistic life with the gloom and doom of depression and suffering.

In Stockholm syndrome the victim's mind has achieved its objective: mental survival and the closest thing to normal they can get. People like Pinkie, who have been raped by Ralph Gonsalves and was never treated for the abuses she suffer, but instead she was made to return to him, on a voluntary basis to relive and participate in her trauma, as a means of supporting her mother and other siblings and extended family even as a minor. Pinkey is victim and is suffering from Stockholm syndrome, so is Bash Thomas' wife and Lyah Jacobs. Victims of Stockholm syndrome, but to them, they are normal. The primary quality of Stockholm syndrome is, the victims become very protective of their abusers and is willing to defend and protect them even at great risk to self. That is why Bashes’ wife was willing to forsake and jeopardized her husband political career for Ralph E. Gonsalves and Pinky will become aggressive, issuing threats, insults, etc. to anyone on Facebook who seems to be a threat to Ralph E. Gonsalves. 

Young Miss Jacobs is all about doing what is right, she should tell the Vincentian community who her rapist is and for how long that person has been imposing his self on her. Miss Jacobs was correct when she declared she needed help, she needs lots of help. She had a big problem before she met Colin Graham and she is no better now that she have out Graham. I "believes" the embarrassment and the threat of unemployment has cure Collin Graham. But Lyah is still to begin to seek help. 

I will like nothing more than to reveal the identity behind this young ​lady problems, but because Lyah Jocobs is all about finding help I will give her the opportunity to make a public declaration of who her rapist, the cause of her problems is and begin her journey from Stockholm syndrome to help, healing and a new degree of normal.

Is hypocrisy Vincentians Middle name

I am sick and tired of the hypocrisy of the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It is even more unfortunate that the people how should know better, the people with a voice and a platform, are those who are responsible for instigating, such hypocrisy among the people who listen to them.

I am of the opinion, anyone who support and or associates themselves with Ralph Gonsalves and his U.L.P Party are blighted by the curse of the almighty God Yahweh, the creator of the Universe. And it matters not who you are, be it my family or my friend, I personally have distanced myself from any such people.

I also believe that anyone who supports the N.D.P, and are a part of the propagation of this hypocrisy, is just as blighted with the curse of Yah; as those who finds affiliation with Ralph Gonsalves and his U.L.P; and I make no exception. You all know who you are, and you all are aware that I am writing this part of this article thinking of you all.

Colin Graham was asked by the leadership of the N.D.P, to be a candidate for the N.D.P to


contest the next election. It led me to asked this question: on what basis was this invitation made? What was Colin to bring to the table that would be of benefit to the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, in the capacity for which he was invited to function? Other than the fact he had a platform which was quickly taken away from him, what now?

I am not saying that Colin Graham cannot make a stalwart contribution, because I don't know his abilities, strengths and weaknesses. Neither does most people who supports his political bid or those listen to him on the radio. However, I will still like to know on what merit was the invitation to young Graham extended? I am Just trying to keep the leaders accountable and thinking.

Subsequent to Colin's invitation being made public, one of Colin's ex-girlfriends came forward with allegations of physical abuse at the hands of Colin Graham. For which she claimed there are medical evidence of injuries sustained and police report to validate her claims, but what was more devastating, was Colin's public admittance to the claims of abuse. For his honesty I congratulate Colin. However, It matters not what that woman had done, no man has the right to physically abuse any woman, especially​ a woman he is involved in a conjugal relationship with; be it a genuine relationship or a hooker and John relationship.

This does not take away a man's right to defend himself, against an aggressive woman, whose intent it is to harm him. However; such defensive should only be to a point, to prevent harm from coming to himself and such retaliatory actions, must not be classified as the use of excessive force. For excessive force, amounts up to abuse, and self-preservation must be backed up; or that man may end up in hot water, for our system - our society has it so set up, to create a victim of every woman in a dispute with a man.

However, in the same manner the demonic supporter of the U.L.P, attacked Michelle Andrews, Margaret Parsons, Kate, Maranda Woods etc. for making allegations of rape and sexual assault against Ralph E. Gonsalves, it was with a similar outraged, contempt and disrespect this young lady was shown; because, she had the strength to expose her abuse by the hands of a man who need help and could have possibly take that adopted habit into a position where he become untouchable like Ralph.

In my opinion this young lady did St. Vincent and the Grenadines a public service, I wished one of Gonsalves' victims, could have done the same thing, before he (Gonsalves) was elected into public office. In 1979 the University professor, from Cave Hill campus; tried to save us from the sexual predator that is Ralph Gonsalves before he became Prime Minister; but her actions were hampered by jurisdictional barriers. Today, Vincent and S.V.G are suffering because an emotionally and mentally broken (ill) man; a man who should be confined to a prison psych ward, is now ruining the country.

The height of hypocrisy that is publicly displayed is tremendous, people who will publicly give their support to abuse women they don't even know, tried to pull down and discredit this young lady, even though Colin in sorrow admitted to his error. This is like saying domestic violence or the abuse of women is not totally wrong, it depends on who the victim is and who the abusers are and their affiliations. This type of attitude is sickening and extremely shameful and those people should be called out on it. I am not putting a comparative degree on Colin's alleged actions to the grossly detestable actions of Ralph Gonsalves. The law have already make that decisions and distinction with the classification and the prescribed punishment for the offences in question.

The NDP has within its rank and file​ many rapist, predatorial homosexual, thieves, abusers of women, many who practice domestic violence, and a multitude who patiently wait to replace the likes of Noel



Jackson, Burns Bonadie and the slate of parasites who now without a conscience pray on the people and resources of our suffering nation.

For fifteen plus years Vincentian have been asking for political change. However, I am convinced that neither the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines especially those in the N.D.P do not honestly want change, however; what they truly want is, a replacement of players. Change suggest that not only the key people must be remove from office but the replacement must be people of different characters, plans, ethics, morals and code of practice.

A replacement government suggest, a change of players; remove those who now oppresses and exploit the poor and squanders the nations resources on themselves and a selected group; with a new group of people, who will continue the same trend, at the expense of the destruction of our nation and its people. Every Vincentian and the N.D.P supports must hold the N.D.P to a higher standard than they hold the dirty bunch that make up the U.L.P. Colin Graham may not be a bad fellow, but morally; he has disqualified himself from contributing to the development of S.V.G in the role he was asked to participate in.

St.Vincent and the Grenadines deserved more than just a replacement government, the people of S.V.G deserves more than popular candidates, we need our leaders to be men and women of integrity, with a character that is solid enough to do the right thing in the face of mountains of opposition, men and women with conclusive plans to move St. Vincent and the Grenadines forward on all fronts. It is time we stop selecting our leaders by default but use hard work and common sense and properly scout our political leaders.
